Who are we?
Te Rōpū Whakamanawa is a group of Year 6 students at Gilberthorpe School in Hei Hei, Ōtautahi, Aotearoa. Welcome to our blog where we share our learning throughout 2018.
At the end of each term we have a Play day. In term one we ventured out to Timbernook and explored a variety of creative play activities. Check out a few of our pictures:
For week one, we have been learning about and reflecting on friendliness. Being friendly helps us show our FISH! Philosophy value of making someone's day.
In Writing, we have been learning about the purpose of writing, how to create imagery and writing so we help our audience to remain interested. Here are some examples of our writing so far:
This term has ended with a fantastic night of dance at the Isaac Theatre Royal in the annual Dancing Like the Stars show.
Rimu Class worked with dance teachers Gloria and Graham throughout term 2 and have learned the Argentine Tango. For many of us, it was the first time experiencing this form of dance and performing to such a large audience.
